Ponca City Refinery Overview:
The
Ponca City Refinery
in Oklahoma has a crude oil processing capacity of 196 MBPD. Both foreign and domestic crudes are delivered by pipeline from Canada, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. The refinery''s facilities include fluid catalytic cracking, d elayed coking and hydro-desulfurization units that enable it to produce high ratios of gasoline and diesel fuel from crude oil. Finished petroleum products are shipped by truck, rail and Company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the mid-continent region. Operations are run 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

: Crude oil and Other Charge Capacity: 196,000 BPD; Gasoline Production Capacity: 105,000 BPD; Distillate Production Capacity: 80,000 BPD.
Description:
The Process Engineer role is responsible for process engineering and developing process designs by following the project front-end loading process for the Ponca City Refinery; assuring that projects are technically sound, complying with safety and environmental requirements; adhering to Process Safety Management of change; and meeting all project objectives.
Responsibilities may include:
Completing technically sound process designs that include all safety and environmental requirements and meet the project schedule milestones.
Delivering on project commitments to refinery operations personnel and project team.
Mentoring and working closely with junior or less experienced engineers.
Communicating with management, project team and refinery operations to assure alignment on project design basis and project schedule.
Developing capital projects that optimize capital and project-related earnings.
Partnering with refinery operations personnel to develop project objectives, engineering effective projects and providing process engineering support through project start-up.
Taking initiative to increase technical knowledge through training opportunities.
Engaging with internal and external networks to share knowledge and best practices.
Establishing priorities and developing critical tasks.
Completing process hazard analysis/change authorization forms.
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Valid driver''s license.
Preferred:
7
years of direct engineering experience in the petroleum refining business in the field of process engineering.
Experience in both refinery process engineering and project work.
Experience with process simulation programs such as HYSYS.
Computer proficiency for applications involving word processing spreadsheets and databases.
Ability to effectively interact with management, refinery operations personnel and contractors.
Refinery, project development and technical knowledge to contribute to success of business.
Ability to communicate clear and specific strategies.
Excellent customer focus.
