Shipping Supervisor

Main Function
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Shipping Superintendent in the coordination and direction of daily activities in the shipping department.
_ _Supervise, train, and develop shipping department personnel to provide quality workmanship, knowledge of the plant quality system, and a strong safety program.
_ _Provide safety training to all shipping employees; actively enforce all plant safety programs and policies.
_ _Monitor the quality system ensuring that all loading procedures are current, up to date and are being followed by the employee.
_ _Schedule of daily loading activities using all resources available.
_ _Direct packaging, identification, and shipping of product to ensure the material is received in good condition.
_ _Develop ongoing relationships with customer service and suppliers.
_ _Arranges the day-to-day record keeping and administrative functions relating to the shipping employees, absenteeism, vacation schedules, work schedules, overtime records and accident reports. Including reviewing punches in the Kronos system.
_ _Arranges the shipping department day-to-day record keeping relating to equipment calibrations, equipment, work orders and equipment maintenance and repair.
_ _Assist in material management and inventory.
_ _Assure continued compliance and development of ISO 9001:2000 registration.
_ _Assist in assurance of compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies.
_ _Improve people performance through coaching, education and training to ensure long-term dependability and increase productivity.
_ _Provide leadership for continued improvement in efficiencies and quality.

_ _High energy level, team player, excellent work ethic, with strong management skills.
_ _Able to develop and enhance relationships with peers, customers, suppliers and auditors.
Education and Experience
_ _College degree required.
_ _Two to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
_ _Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or AS400 database programs.
_ _One to two years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferre.
_ _Effective communicator, both oral and written.
