Production Supervisor
SUMMARY Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in producing and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operate and maintain the plant while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
Responsible for the production, testing, review and release for distribution of all FDA regulated products.
Manage and provide leadership to Production Operators.
Assigns job tasks to workers according to customer needs, current stock levels and worker's expertise.
Fully utilizes the Production Planning Module.
Ensures all safety regulations are strictly observed and corrects any unsafe act or condition immediately.
Also conducts regular safety meetings.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capabilities of machines and equipment.
Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product and changes working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
Be able to fill in and produce finished product where need arises.
Resolves any and all employee complaints and provides coaching and corrective action.
Conducts periodic checks of plant to ensure a safe, orderly and efficient working environment.
Maintain time and production records as well as approve overtime only when necessary.
Verifies and tracks associate time clock entries and absenteeism.
Ensures all injuries and accidents are properly reported to his/her supervisor and a member of the safety dept upon receiving knowledge of any accidents or injuries.
Train new associates and cross train all associates to continue production during a personnel shortage.
Serves as backup to the Plant Manager during limited time away from work.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises distribution personnel in the plant assigned area.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; assist in planning and assigning work as well as assisting in the preparation of performance evaluations, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
